Hephzibah: My Delight Is In Her

"For Zion's sake, I will not keep silent,
for Jerusalem's sake I will not remain quiet,
till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch.
The nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory;
you will be called by a new name that the mouth of the LORD will bestow.
You will be a crown of splendor in the LORD's hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate.
But you will be called Hephzibah (my delight is in her) and your land Beulah (married);
for the LORD your God will take delight in you, and your land will be married.
As a young man marries a maiden, so your sons (Builder) will marry you;
as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you....
They will be called the Holy People, the Redeemed of the LORD;
and you will be called Sought After, the City No Longer Deserted."
Isaiah 62:1-5, 12

Hephzibah: My Delight Is In Her

"Unless the Holy Spirit shows up, I have NOTHING to give you."
~ Beth Moore~

 The quote above goes deep with me because that's exactly the way I feel: unqualified unless Jesus shows up. I'm in the middle of learning these lessons I'm sharing with you, and in sharing them, I feel like God's writing them upon my heart in a way that will strengthen my resolve to really learn them and then live them.

We all need to know we're loved, that someone, somewhere cares. I don't know about you, but I need it constantly. I'm not always faithful to go to the one place that promises comfort, healing and well, love. As I talk with people around me, I realize that many of us are in the same boat. But I'm hoping that with this blog, you and I can learn to go to that place together.

Why the odd name? Because we need to know God delights in us and what that really means for us as we live our daily lives. So, whether you're old or young, man or woman, single or married, rich or poor, or whatever, I hope this blog ministers to you.

This site is for anyone who needs to know that you are sought after, you are loved, and you are precious. The God of Heaven and Earth rejoices over you and to say He wants you to depend on Him is an understatement;

 "Man does not live on bread alone but on the very word that comes from the mouth of God." Deuteronomy 8:3

Together, we are going to learn what that means for us personally.

I pray God blesses you and me as we go when He says,

 "Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
 Matthew 11:28

I'm ready for some rest, how about you?

"For Zion's sake, I will not keep silent,
for Jerusalem's sake I will not remain quiet,
till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch.
The nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory;
you will be called by a new name that the mouth of the LORD will bestow.
You will be a crown of splendor in the LORD's hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate.
But you will be called Hephzibah (my delight is in her) and your land Beulah (married);
for the LORD your God will take delight in you, and your land will be married.
As a young man marries a maiden, so your sons (Builder) will marry you;
as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you....

  2. My names Anastasia Im from Spokane Washington and Im 23 years old.

    For so long I have felt distant from the Lord because I felt like I was always letting him down.Today Oct 1st 2013 I was laying on my bed soaking to worship music and I heard the Holy Spirit say so clearly Hephzibah. At that moment I began to cry out from the deepest places of me Hephzibah. I felt God crying over me and calling me Hephzibah… I began to sob as that very name brought so much restoration to my heart. Without out even knowing the meaning of Hephzibah. I had the window open in my room and all day its been sunny out and at the moment I began cry outloud with tears rolling down my face Hephzibah it began to pour down rain so valiantly. I felt something break over the heavens.. It was still so sunny out but now it was pouring down rain!!!! I was amazed and couldn't stop laughing and crying as the Love of God swapped over me. I quickly googled the name Hephzibah and was overwhelmed when I read "my delight is in her"… His love is so really and He just can't wait to shower us with His delight!! Thats how I found your blog on google :D!! I read the whole thing and I felt like everything you said God was deeply speaking to me :D!! Thank you!! BLESS YOU!!!

    1. Hello Anastasia, I hope you are doing well? I also just want to send you some words of encouragement, and comfort. Rain in scripture is a symbol of the outpouring of the Holy Ghost. God said that in the last days he will pour out his Spirit upon all flesh. The Spirit of God gives us the power to live for God the way he desires it. There is no good chance to without His Spirit. Please read the book of Acts chapter 2 and you will see when God first allowed the promise of the Holy Spirit to be made manifested. Notice what the actual evidence of the Holy Ghost in the people is. Peter in that chapter (Acts 2) said God shed forth this which you now see and hear. It is a supernatural experience. I believe Jesus made you that promise and it is already yours by faith! The promise is ours even before the foundation of the world! God makes a promise but it is up to us to believe that promise. Faith without works is dead! In the book of Acts which is the history of the true church you will see what actually happened when they were filled with the Holy Spirit. I believe God wanted me to share this with you because I too just a few moments ago heard the word hephzibah in my ears and decided to do a google search on it to confirm that it means "my delight is in her" God's delight is in his bride, the church who he loves dearly. She is filled with the Holy Ghost and baptized in his blood, the name of Jesus (Acts 2:38 Revelation 12:10-11) Her garments are made white without spots or wrinkles. God has begun a good work with you and he will not end in bad work (Philippians 1:6). Continue to seek God! Luke 11:13
